"Alright, the sewers it is," Jane said with a nod. She wandered familiar, though until recently little-used, paths that twined through the forest until she reached a usually deserted road. It was not far at all to a manhole cover that she knew had a ladder. She turned to Ende.
"It is going to be pitch in there for quite awhile until we get to the maintenance lights," she said. "I'll have you lead with the light, but I'll make sure to direct you so we don't get lost. Keep an eye out for the white ribbons." She had put them there on her first trip to the sewers to make sure that she didn't get lost in the underground labyrinth.
Glancing down the road first one way and then the other she strode out of the tree-line, pausing to pick up a crowbar that she had stored in a bush near the cover, and deftly removed the large metal circle.
"Take care to pull it back over when you're down," she said before dropping down the hole. She held the shadows on her way down effectively turning the ladder into a fireman's pole. Her impact echoed down the empty corridors.
The cement under her feet was level and dry, and for the life of her she had no idea how the sewer was kept so clean, The over-sweet smell of rot hung in the air, but was not stifling. She backed away from the ladder and watched up the hole for Ende.

Ende was impressed that Dusk was so well prepared when it came to the sewers. She could never plan something out so well as to think to even hide a crowbar in the bushes for later use. She listened to Dusk and nodded her head, following her words. When Dusk went down into the hole she watched nervously. It looked very dark and a her fear of dark from when she was a child came creeping back.
Not wanting to look like a complete baby in front of her though, she pushed through the pang of fear and climbed down the ladder slowly, making sure to not miss a rung. The last thing she wanted to do was accidently fall.
Once her feet were on solid ground, she breathed a small sigh of relief. Reaching into her bag she pulled out her flashlight, and turned it on,making sure to keep the beam away from Dusk.
"So what direction are we walking?" Ende asked.

Jane couldn't help but worry for Ende as she made her way down the ladder. She knew that without her abilities she would have missed a rung as she had every time that she had gone down one without using the shadows around it.
"Alright, we'll be heading that way," she said pointing toward the area in front of her. She hoped that Ende could see her well enough to gather the main direction from her.
"You know, I'm surprised that you're coming down into the sewers with a total stranger in a place that lightning can't reach," Dusk mused. It wasn't meant in a threatening way, but she couldn't keep tthe observation to herself.

Ende saw the space where Dusk was pointing, nodding her head she began to walk. With the flashlight lighting the way, she made sure that she didn't trip and look stupid. The sewer wasn't nearly as dirty and disgusting as she thought it was going to be, it was on the contary quite clean.
"I'm a pretty good judge of character" Ende said smiling to herself. She wasn't getting any vibes from Dusk that made her feel like she was in danger. Plus she was confident that even if Dusk did turn out to be pyscho, she would figure out some way to use her powers against her.

"Mhm, it's good when you can tell character," she said with a nod.
"So how long have you lived in Kenningston?" she asked with interest. She'd been living there a few years herself, but she hadn't actually met many of the locals. That made it difficult for her to judge how long someone had been in the town.
"Alright you'll want to turn right at the first corridor. See that ribbon up there?" she asked pointing over Ende's shoulder. It wasn't much farther until they'd be in the dim red lights that illuminated the maintenance area.
